Who we are
Australian Privacy Network is a registered business name of Australian Data Removal Pty Ltd (ACN 695 272 836). We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Browsing the free resource directory requires no account and no personal information. Where you choose to contact us or use a service, we may collect:
- your name and contact details, when you make an enquiry;
- details of a service enquiry or matter you ask us to help with;
- information relevant to a specific case, where you engage a service;
- identity-verification details, only where genuinely required for a service;
- business-privacy enquiry details, where an organisation contacts us;
- payment information, handled by a third-party payment processor where a paid service applies;
- technical and log information (such as IP address and device or browser details);
- limited security information used to protect our systems;
- cookies and similar identifiers (see below);
- analytics information about how the site is used;
- information you provide through any form.
Why we collect it, and how we use it
We collect personal information to respond to enquiries, deliver services you have requested, operate and secure the website, meet legal obligations and improve the network. We use it only for those purposes and directly related purposes you would reasonably expect.
Service providers and overseas processing
We use third-party service providers for functions such as hosting, security, email delivery and payment processing. Primary application data is held on infrastructure located in Australia. Some providers that support specific functions may operate outside Australia; where that is the case, we take reasonable steps to ensure handling remains consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles. We name our processors on request and update this statement as our systems are confirmed.
Storage, retention and deletion
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep information only as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected and for related legal, accounting and dispute-handling obligations, after which we destroy or de-identify it.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Contact us at safe@australianprivacynetwork.com.au. We respond within a reasonable period and do not charge simply for making a request. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Data breaches
If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the OAIC in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
